A great blow-dry starts long before the finishing touches. The right combination of heat protection, volume and hold can transform the finished result — giving hair body, movement and a polished salon finish without weighing it down.
For the perfect blow-dry, we’ve put together a simple three-product routine: Selective Professional Up To 230° + NOW Bounce Volume + Excel Hairspray.
Step 1: Protect — Up To 230°
Heat protection should be the first step in any professional blow-dry.
Selective Professional Up To 230° provides bonded heat defence, helping to protect the hair during heat styling at temperatures of up to 230°C.
Apply throughout the hair before blow-drying, paying particular attention to the mid-lengths and ends. Comb through for even distribution before beginning your styling routine.
Why use it? Because a beautiful blow-dry shouldn't come at the expense of the condition of the hair.
Step 2: Build Volume — NOW Bounce Volume
Next, it's time to create the body.
Selective Professional NOW Bounce Volume is a volumising gel designed to give the hair lift, fullness and shape — making it an ideal partner for a bouncy blow-dry.
Work a small amount through damp hair, concentrating around the roots and areas where additional volume is needed. Then blow-dry using a round brush, lifting each section away from the scalp to maximise body.
The goal isn't simply bigger hair. It's controlled volume with movement, shape and a professional finish.
Blow-Dry Tip
For maximum root lift, direct the hair in the opposite direction to where you want it to sit while drying. Once cooled and returned to position, you'll create noticeably more volume at the root.
Step 3: Fix — Excel Hairspray
You've protected it. You've created the volume. Now make it last.
Selective Professional Excel Hairspray provides extra-strong hold to help fix your finished style and maintain the shape you've created.
Once the hair has cooled, lightly mist Excel over the finished blow-dry. Concentrate on areas where you want to preserve volume and shape without unnecessarily overloading the hair.
For maximum bounce, avoid flattening the finished style with your hands immediately after spraying — allow the hairspray to settle first.
